From the forgotten albums cemetery, here’s an album of an Oklahoma band who did know how to harmonize guitars. They don’t come from the deep South, but Oklahoma is neighbor with Missouri and Arkansas, that can explain the Southern Rock influences of that album issued in 1981. As soon as begins the listening, we just can think that these musicians had a very good musical level, and knew the job, as it can’t be heard on many songs. “Calm Before The Storm” on a medium tempo shows nice Southern guitar parts. Guitar players are really good at the end of “In The Sun”. Rock song “Which Way Will You Go?” looks like a seventies title, a little bit like what did Cactus. “Buchanan Street” has good guitar moments, a little bit like the Allman Brothers Band fast blues songs. Good guitars again on “High Style”, a swinging song with a blues break and a harmonica solo. “Spirit Of The City” is a mix between Southern Soul and a Pop song, just like Wet Willie do and with a good job of the guitarists. Then we can’t stop stomp our feet on “Dancin’” a good old Rock song with a harmonica. Everyone can go to the top. Xebec guys could have made it, but fate and destiny had taken another decision. But a real thank you to Southern Records to allow us to discover such good and old albums that deserve more success.
